Kaity Prieto

Kaity Prieto

Dr. Kaity Prieto is the University Innovation Alliance Fellow for The Ohio State University. She has nearly ten years of professional experience in higher education. Most recently, Kaity conducted interdisciplinary student success research for Ohio State’s Office of Student Academic Success as a Graduate Research Associate in Research and Program Assessment. She has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework focused on qualitative research, as well as power, privilege, inequality and their role in student development. Previously, Kaity worked as a Senior Associate Director for New York University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions, specializing in international and transfer admission, as well as alumni relations. Kaity’s research agenda centers the lived experiences of marginalized students, particularly members of the LGBTQ+ community, by challenging deficit perspectives, emphasizing structural barriers to success, and highlighting student resistance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in a self-designed honors major and Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs, both from NYU, and her PhD in Educational Studies with a concentration in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Ohio State.
